Sugar Glaze for Rolls, Strudels, etc.

8 oz confectioner’s (powdered) sugar
1 tbsp shortening
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring (or maple if you prefer)
water
Rub shortening into powdered sugar until mixed. Add water gradually while stirring, until desired consistency is achieved. Add vanilla flavoring and stir. Spread on warm pastries.
